Hash-rate filings, AI footnotes
Riot and MARA still report as miners. The AI optionality language is in the slides. The 8-Ks are still about machines, sites, and liquidity.
Summary
Riot’s current-report stack and MARA’s August 6 10-Q / 8-K are miner documents: fleet, sites, and cash. Both companies have used ‘optionality’ language around HPC. Optionality is a real word. It is also the word you use when a hall has not been converted and a tenant has not signed. HPC Daily will move either name into the HPC-developer column when an 8-K forces it — not when a slide does.
Why it matters
The coverage universe includes miners who might convert and miners who are being priced as if they already had. Riot and MARA are still in the first group on the paper that matters.

Risks
- A single converted hall does not re-rate a fleet.
- Liquidity and BTC treasury policy still dominate these 10-Qs.
- Do not read an AI footnote as a contracted campus.
