Renaming a subsidiary ‘Buzz’ does not move a queue

HIVE’s HPC branding is now explicit in the org chart. Interconnection and hydro contracts are what the 10-Q still prices.

Summary

HIVE Digital Technologies furnished an 8-K on August 19 and filed its 10-Q on August 14. The subsidiary rename to Buzz Performance Computing is already in the annual-report footnotes. Branding is finished. Quebec, Fennoscandia, and Paraguay are not renamed with it. The useful read remains power cost, uptime, and whether any HPC load is contracted — not whether the letterhead says Buzz.

Why it matters

Rebrands cluster in this set (Iris Energy → IREN, Cipher Mining → Cipher Digital, Bitfarms → Keel). They are legal facts. They do not move a utility queue or a tenant negotiation.

Companies affected

Risks

  • HPC subsidiaries can be cost centers for longer than a rename implies.
  • Geographic spread is not the same as contracted GPU demand.
  • Shelf amendments (POSASR in June) remain permission to issue equity.
